Luxury Hotel Stay: Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay

Location:

Located right on Jimbaran Bay, approximately 20 minutes from Bali's Ngurah Rai Airport. There are restaurants and cafes within driving distance of the hotel, although to be honest, we only left for dinner one of the three nights of our stay. This is a great place to kick off your trip and relax before heading to Ubud or other areas of Bali.

The Villa:

All rooms at the Four Seasons in Jimbaran Bay are villas with private courtyards and infinity pools. The villas are absolutely stunning inside and out, and many have amazing ocean views. We stayed in a Jimbaran Bay Villa, which had partial ocean views. Each villa is equipped with a large netted canopy bed and a huge bathroom complete with an outdoor shower in one of the courtyards. The main courtyard has a covered seating area and another area with pool loungers. Definitely an all-time favorite of mine when it comes to hotel accommodations.

This is a perfect place to check out of real life for a bit - order room service breakfast to your private pool and just lounge! Speaking of breakfast, the room service spread was out of this world. We went big every morning (we still talk about the chocolate chip pancakes, don't judge us ha), it's vacation after all!

Hotel Grounds, Food, and Service:

The hotel grounds, service, and food were all top notch. Upon arrival, you will be greeted in the large open-air lobby. We arrived early in the morning but they were able to get us into a room extra early, which we were not expecting. It was so nice since we had been traveling for 24+ hours. The resort area is large, and you are able to call for carts to drive you around the resort, although we preferred to walk the beautiful grounds.

The property has three pools. We mostly used the private pool in our villa, but liked Sundara's pool best when we needed a change of scenery, and the pool service and covered daybeds were perfect. Yoga classes are offered in a quiet pavilion overlooking the water, and we ended up being the only ones there the morning we went.

Although we ordered room service breakfast most days, we did go to Taman Wantilan Restaurant restaurant for brunch, which was in an outdoor covered pavilion with gardens, water pools and ocean views. There are many food options to choose from, including an entire pavilion for sweets and fresh made crepes. The food at Sundara pool and restaurant was also delicious.

One downside to this property is the beach. The resort is set on a hill above the beach, which is a short walk from the hotel. I wouldn't call the beach itself overly scenic, and the resort doesn't have an area with loungers on the actual beach (it instead has a lifted garden area above). We were fine to stay at the pool in our villa or on the hotel grounds, but if you are a person that loves beach activities, there are other areas of Bali with better sand and beach areas.

Another thing to note is that the property is on the other side of the bay from the island's airport. We could see planes in the distance, but were never affected by the sound. Overall, the villas and level of service far outweighed these factors in my opinion.
